I Want an iPad

I want an iPad. My eyes are broken, and I hate small screens, so a BlackBerry or iPhone aren't for me. I want a device that is small and portable, with internet capabilities. The Kindle looks great, as does the Sony Reader, but I usually borrow books from a library--very green. If I love the book, then I'll go buy it so that the writer gets some cash. So an iPad it is. I hope the next version comes out quickly because that's the one I'll actually buy--let them work out the kinks first.

Isn't technology wonderful? I love being able to access all kinds of information whenever I want, and to keep in touch w/ people via email, texting, blogging, etc. I do not Facebook because keeping up w/ the previous three is enough to keep me busy, and I love to read. My concern is that technology will replace rigorous critical thinking. Sure, the smart kids will always be smart--I'm not worried about them. It's the average to good that has me thinking about what this could lead to. If writing is a piece of thinking, then I'm afraid.
